Two weeks ago, we celebrated Joey's first year of life. Is it just me, or is the first year of any child's life the Longest Year Ever? I'm very proud to announce that we successfully completed it, so on to Year #2!

We were planning on a very quiet celebration for Joe at home, but the day before his birthday one of my neighbors called (we get together regularly for a Bible study once a week) and asked if we weren't able to get together that day. We usually meet on Friday and it was Monday, so I was NOT at all prepared to go.
Then Panchita mentioned that Rosario had bought a cake to celebrate Joey.
Well . . . in that case, I guess I can hurry up the kids' naps a bit so we can celebrate my son. ;)
Joey's first birthday turned out to be a surprise party--for me, too!
